What is Pineforest media?

Why did i start this?

Pineforest Media is a call to creation. Many times, we struggle to find an inspiration to create or even a reason to, yet we get that distinct feeling telling us to go out and make something. This is more than just my portfolio, this is my creative outlet. Pineforest Media is my project to bring more creation into the world. I hope to grow this into something bigger than just photography. I want to branch out into many different forms of media and expression, and eventually grow into more than just me. I want Pineforest to grow into a community of creators, who all have one drive: To create

Why Pineforest?

I originally chose “Pineforest” as an homage to my family, but I stuck with it for many other reasons.

First off, my last name is Pineda which originated in the Spanish region of Catalunya, meaning “pine forest.” This is why I originally thought of the name.

However, the name stuck with me because my goal soon became to grow Pineforest Media into more than just me; growing from a tree into a forest.

I thought of the symbolism behind the way that pine trees drop their cones and multiply into a forest. This was the final factor in deciding on the name.

Why the Slogan?

“Creatio ex nihilo” means “creation out of nothing” in Latin. This phrase is the understanding that God created the universe from nothing. Growing up Catholic, I thought this was a great way to incorporate my faith into my project. I decided on this for my slogan because the entire mission of Pineforest Media is to create even when nothing comes to mind. Create without reason, create without inspiration, create something out of what we think is nothing.
